You can run your own Gpodder server and enter the address into AntennaPod but that is probably a bit too much for most users. I have just installed the podcast client gPodder ( I am trying to change the default download directory, and the manual indicates that you set the environment variable GPODDERDOWNLOADDIR to the location of the download folder that you wish to specify. Therefore, in order to get all your existing subscriptions synchronized, you need to create and link the devices before logging in (like it is described in this post). is sometimes a bit unstable but it usually gets better after a few hours.

The disadvantage of this is that only podcasts that were added after linking the devices are synchronized. You can also create a new device while logging in and link it later. During login, AntennaPod asks what device you are currently logged into. There you can log in to or even provide an alternative server if you want to host it yourself.
